Explore the UNESCO World Heritage listed Blue Mountains by e-bike and enjoy the breathtaking views, stunning waterfalls and visit the iconic Three Sisters. On this self guided tour you will set your own pace and take as much time as you need to fully experience the best the Blue Mountains has to offer. Skirting the escarpment along the back roads you will travel between small towns with numerous lookouts, walking trails and your choice of cafe to enjoy a coffee and a snack. We have mapped out a number of routes for you to choose from which allow ample time to explore and enjoy the charming towns in the area. You will stay in Katoomba for 2 nights which will give you plenty of time to enjoy the delights of the town. With an array of cafes, restaurants and an award winning brewery all in walking distance from the hotel you'll be spoiled for choice.

Itinerary

Once in Katoomba and you're checked in, the afternoon is yours to explore the town. Walk down the main street and see the fascinating range of shops. Enjoy the vast array of food and beverage options, such as the Mountain Culture Brewery, wood-fired pizza at Station Bar, or the all day breakfast menu at the Pomegranate Cafe. If you are interested in the history of the local area the Blue Mountains Cultural Centre is a must see. After dusk, we recommend visiting the Katoomba Falls Reserve Night-lit Walk which is a special prelude to tomorrow's cycle trip. Check in is generally from 2pm however you may be able to leave your bags at the hotel earlier or organise with us to store them at our bike hub.

Today you will have two choices to explore the Upper Mountains. We’ve put together two rides for today that will have you either exploring the cliff lines of Katoomba, Leura and Wentworth Falls, or hopping on the train with your bike to experience the amazing lookouts and browse the specialty stores of Blackheath. On the first choice you will take a leisurely cycle along the Cliff tops of Katoomba, Leura and Wentworth Falls to experience the stunning views of the Megalong valley, the Jamieson Valley and the Three Sisters. Explore the Fine Woodwork Gallery and the various gift shops on the Main street of Leura before making your way to Wentworth Falls to enjoy a delicious meal and a well deserved rest. Or For the second option you will start the day by hopping on the train with your bike for a short trip to Blackheath. Here you will visit the sensational lookouts with views stretching across the Megalong Valley and be amazed by the paragliders runway. The views in Blackheath are breathtaking and these lookouts will not disappoint! Blackheath has many options for a long lunch or snacks and coffee. After you’ve had your fill there are two or three more lookouts to experience looking into the Grose Valley and across to the massive cliff lines in the distance.

Meals:  Nil

Sadly, it's your last day to explore the Blue Mountains by bike. But it's going to be unforgettable! After breakfast, you'll cycle through North Katoomba to Minnehaha Falls, known for its beautiful swimming hole (so bring your swimmers if you're so inclined). Next, ride back to town for lunch. A hot pie from Hominy Bakery will go down a treat. Then it's time to return your bike to the cycle hub. You can leave your luggage securely at the cycle hub after checkout and take your time cycling through North Katoomba and the streets of Leura stopping at creeks and parks along the way. The trip concludes this afternoon. Please speak to us if you would like to extend your stay in the Blue Mountains by one day. We can combine the cycle trip with a day out canyoning with the Blue Mountains Adventure Company.
