With its stunning landscapes, world-class wines and laidback, cultured capital, South Australia is a rewarding slice of Australia that should be on your radar. From the striking desert scenery of the outback to the sparkling beaches and abundant wildlife of the coast, this is the perfect place to encounter Australia’s unique landscapes, flora and fauna.

The Clare Valley is home to one of Australia's oldest wine regions and is the perfect place to discover Australia’s thriving food and wine scene. Highly awarded vineyards and welcoming cellar doors line the valley, alongside heritage villages, creative galleries and excellent country cafés. The iconic Riesling Trail is a must-do ride, running 35km between the towns of Clare and Auburn. It’s flat, scenic and wonderfully cyclist-friendly - perfect for pedalling at a leisurely pace while stopping often for tastings, local produce and the occasional long lunch.

Just a short drive from Adelaide, the Barossa Valley is another cycling highlight and one of Australia’s most celebrated wine regions. Pedalling quiet country roads and dedicated rail trails takes you through classic Barossa towns such as Tanunda, Nuriootpa and Angaston, where vineyards seem to stretch endlessly across the landscape. Along the way you’ll pass both iconic wineries and small boutique cellar doors, many with generations of winemaking history behind them.

The Barossa is also famous for its strong German heritage, which lives on in the region’s architecture, food traditions and warm hospitality. Cycling here isn’t just about the kilometres - it’s about the experiences along the way, whether that’s a bakery stop, a cheese tasting, or a well-earned glass of Shiraz overlooking the vines.

Our unique itineraries are designed to get you deep into Australia’s most magnificent regions by bike. Take a look and start planning your South Australian cycling adventure.
