If you need another reason to ride the Murray to Mountain Rail Trail, here it is. The Parks Victoria team at Mount Buffalo have recently unveiled their new viewing platform with a glass panel embedded in the floor.

 

 

 This opens up the gorgeous views from Mount Buffalo with an incredible perspective. Truly a unique way to admire the beautiful scenery of Victoria's High Country, plus it's wheelchair accessible. Take a look in the below video from the Visit Mount Buffalo Facebook page.

 

 

Would you dare to step onto the glass panel???

 

You can experience the viewing platform at the top of Mount Buffalo on our Murray to the Mountains: Extended Edition. It's an optional day trip on day 6 of this 7 day, self guided itinerary. Here's the itinerary from the trip:

 

It's a long beautiful climb to the top of Mount Buffalo. Be prepared for 20km of continuous up hill. It’s a nice, steady gradient of about 5% and the views from the top are spectacular so it is well worth the effort. Please note, once you start climbing there are no food or drink stops, so take adequate water (at least 2 water bottles is recommended). What goes up must come down so you will enjoy the downhill ride back into Bright. 

Should you prefer to explore Bright today there is a plethora of things to do and see; explore an art gallery or museum, walk one of the many beautiful walking trails, take a dip in Ovens River on a warm day or you can visit breweries, wineries, a gin distillery or a farm gate for local produce.
