Delicious Foods of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail

The first stage of the Northern Rivers Rail Trail, from Murwillumbah to Crabbes Creek, is now open. While this new cycling route has been bringing great attention to the region, it’s the gastronomic pleasures to be found within that is the true hidden gem here.

On our Northern Rivers Rail Trail and Tweed Cycle Explorer, you’ll get to do just this. Over 6 days of self-guided cycling, you’ll discover the scenic highlights of the Tweed Valley. From the timeless landmark of Wollumbin (Mount Warning), an extinct volcano, to the seaside resort town of Kingscliff, you’re bound to fall in love with the Northern Rivers.

Ben’s Patisserie

A small, family-owned bakery, Ben's Patisserie specialises in crafting delicious, traditional French pastries and cakes from scratch. Among their delectable offerings are various types of croissants (plain, almond, filled, chocolate), award-winning Parisian macarons, lemon meringue, eclairs, mille feuille, custard flan, pear tart and other mouth-watering treats.
 
 

Kat Harvey Cheese

Kat Harvey is a small artisan cheese emporium in Murwillumbah. She and her team produces a range of delicious cheeses using traditional techniques, with a stand out being the creamy brie.

Murwillumbah Farmers' Market 

Held every Wednesday morning from 7-11am, this market offers a range of fresh produce from local farmers and growers. Visitors can sample a range of delicious foods, including fresh fruit and vegetables, artisan breads, locally-produced honey, and more. If you can time your bike tour during the Wednesday Murwillumbah Farmers' Market you won't regret it.
 
 

Earth Beer Company

A fitting place to pop in on your way through Cudgen, this brewery is all about making delicious beverages with a low impact on the environment. Their Rising Sun pale ale will make your day.

Farm & Co

Farm & Co features a casual cafe and a restaurant for longer lunches. They specialise in paddock-to-plate food, with the majority of their organic ingredients sourced from their own farm. Find it while cycling by the Cudgen Plateau.
